Paralegal Certificate

The Paralegal Certificate is designed for individuals currently working in the legal field, as well as those with a degree in another discipline seeking to enhance their credentials through a focused, law-related curriculum. The program is nationally recognized by the American Association for Paralegal Education (AAfPE) and includes a chapter of Lambda Epsilon Chi, the Paralegal Honor Society.

Program Information

The Paralegal Certificate is designed for individuals already working in the field as a paralegal who wish to acquire a college credential. Also provides specialized legal training to individuals who may already have a degree in another field or to individuals interested in pre-law.

Success in the program is defined by your ability to apply what you’ve learned in real-world scenarios. This program ensures that every student achieves the following core competencies:

Apply basic legal concepts and fundamental principles of law for varied legal tasks.
Demonstrate the ability to utilize field specific technology.
Perform legal analysis for varied legal matters.
Conduct client interviews and prepare witnesses and evidence for presentation at legal proceedings.
Perform legal research and utilize techniques of legal writing in the preparation of legal documents.
Demonstrate conduct consistent with the ethical obligations of the legal profession to avoid ethical violations.
